Small of stature and pretty rather than handsome, most people underestimate Michael Boyd even knowing the reputation of his family. Raised in the Highlands, well north of Dinium, he was neck deep in the family business of handling monsters and hunting down renegade humanoids as soon as he could. That wasn't all that soon, though, given that they mostly kept him doing diplomatic work with the Fae Courts since he was one of the few Waves with a nimble mind. Eventually, though, he got out in the field, and a good thing too given that he's a damned good medic. His healing skills are nearly unmatched, combining High and Low magic in ways that no one else has ever considered. Honestly, he'd be on the cutting edge of his field if one, anyone else cared about incorporating the two as much as he does, and he was half as good at documenting and instructing as he is at DOING. Unfortunately, he very much is not. Which isn't to say he doesn't know his way around a fight. There's not a Boyd alive who isn't half ready to throw a punch as their default setting and Michael, despite his size, is no different. He presents to most something of a dichotomy: a mind as sharp and agile as a Breeze's with the heart that's all watery Wave. He follows his heart, sometimes in the worst directions, which is one of the reasons he generally works himself to exhaustion any time he has a shift and has to be picked up and bodily carried home more often than anyone would like.
